Vitamin B₆, vitamin B₁₂ and folic acid (folate) contribute to normal homocysteine metabolism. Vitamin B₁ (thiamine), vitamin B₂ (riboflavin), vitamin B₆, vitamin B₁₂, pantothenic acid, niacin, vitamin C, biotin, magnesium, iodine, copper and manganese contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism.

The omega-3 fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and also vitamin B₁ (thiamine), contribute to the normal function of the heart.
The beneficial effect is noticeable with a daily uptake of 250 mg EPA and DHA.
